The Helvetia, WV News Web site is a personal site run by Dave Whipp.

In September, 2007, Dave retired from West Virginia University where he worked as a media developer, project manager, and trainer. His work was under Federal grants to improve employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

He now works from his home in Helvetia as a consultant for training, materials development, and project management.

Dave is not a Helvetia native, he began visiting in the 1990s at the invitation of musician friends who played there. He liked the area and people, rented a weekend house there for several years, and eventually bought property.
