Saturday, August 2. Swiss National Holiday. 6:00 p.m. Cookout in the meadow: bratwurst, fresh veggies, chips and dip, homemade cookies, and more. 7:00 p.m. Traditional Swiss dancing, music, and singing. 8:00 Square dance at the Community Hall. Adults $5, children under 12, $1.

Monday, August 4. Farm Women's Club Meeting.

Saturday, August 9. Playground Equipment Installation at Pickens School. Part II. We installed 3 of the 4 items on June 28. Come help with the final one. Starting at 8:00 a.m.

Tuesday, August 12. Monthly meeting of the Helvetia Restoration and Development Organization. 7:00 p.m. at the Helvetia Public Library.

Saturday, August 16. Chicken Supper. Enjoy fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, noodles, coleslaw, applesauce, bread, jelly, pickles, pie, and drinks. Supper will be served from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. or until the food is gone. $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under. The Square Dance is from 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. with music by the Helvetia Star Band. Community Hall.

Volunteer Opportunity: Help is needed for the Chicken Supper on both Friday and Saturday--especially Saturday. If you are busy during the day but can help with cleanup in the evening, that is especially helpful. If you can help for even a few hours, please give Betty Biggs a call at 304-924-5018. Food donations are also welcomed.
